China Dog - Chow Chow.

It is believed that the origin of Chow Chow dog is in China. In his homeland, he is still used today as a daycare dog, as both houses of reed boats, and even as a delicacy in countries of other continents. The Chow is considered as a company dog. It has a very proud and reserved nature, which makes it become attached only to its owner. It always presents a clean coat and is easy to train, but is very difficult to live alone at home, because it has a great need for areas where it can be able to move.

The Chow Chow looks like major Nordic Spitz and still retains some features of him. For many centuries, is raised with care in China, where it is considered as a working dog. The many existing ancient witnesses tell us with certainty that their appearance has remained unchanged over time, and therefore maintain its ancestral characteristics of race. Its introduction in Europe is due to a British ambassador in Peking who gave a couple of these dogs to the Prince of Wales in 1880. Immediately, the race is spread fairly rapidly in England and were very numerous imports from China, to the point that in 1884 the English Kennel Club, the officially recognized.

It is a dog of strong constitution, good power and leonine appearance. The head is relatively strong and broad, with small eyes and dark, penetrating expression, whose apparent lack of eyebrows is due to the particular design of the folds. The trunk is very solid and powerful.
Height at the withers is minimum 45 inches.

Head: truffle large, broad and preferably black on sheets of white or cream can be clear, in blue or fawn, the color of the layer; snout of moderate width, eye width from the end; venture with scissors; skull flat and broad. Stop slightly marked.

Eyes: small, preferably almond shaped dark in color except blue dogs to lions, which can be clear.

Ears: small, thick, slightly rounded at the tip, carried stiffly erect, well spaced from each other.

Neck: strong, solid, slightly arched.

Forelimbs: perfectly straight, of moderate length and strong bones. Shoulders are muscular and sloping.

Body: chest wide and deep. Back is short, straight, strong, kidneys powerful.

Hindlimb: perfectly straight, well muscled. Hocks low.

Feet: small, round, compact.

Cola: high birth, carried well turned and resting on the rump.

Coat: plentiful, thick, smooth, straight, composed of relatively coarse outer hair and a touch soft, woolly
undercoat.

Color: entirely black, red, blue (metallic blue), Ieonado, cream, and more rarely white. Stains are not allowed.

FOOD: nutritional needs in inactive adult specimen have been estimated between 1,250 and 1440 Kcal; daily ration of maintenance. His diet should be as rational as possible, with adequate protein, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins and minerals.

DAILY CARE: The Chow Chow is provided with a rich, thick hair and a soft undercoat, which need to be brushed daily. This operation is extremely important because it allows for good aeration of the undercoat, reducing the possibility of developing pathogen. The brush should be dipped in a disinfectant solution.

DISEASES: It is known that this race could have hereditary disease (myotonia and muscle hypertrophy).

Dogs have to have a bath often. They get so dirty and start smelling really bad after a while. Bathing a dog can be really hard, but here are some great ideas and tips on how to give your dog a bath.

First, make sure that you have everything you need to give your dog a bath. You don't want to have to run and get something only to find your dog running around the house dripping soap and water everywhere. Make sure that you finish all other grooming before you give your dog a bath. The bath should be the last thing you do besides blow dry his hair.

Brush your dog's hair. Get out any knots and any loose hair. Use a dog rake if you can. Dogs that shed a lot will shed a lot in the bath too and you don't want to have to clean a ton of dog hair out of your tub.

Put your dog into the bath tub or kiddie pool or other container that you are going to use. Take off her normal collar and put on another one. The normal collar can hurt the dog when wet. Buy one that will be good in the water and will help you restrain your dog and one that won't bleed when it gets wet. You don't want your dog turning out blue.

Rinse your dog off very well. Make sure he is completely wet. Use a bath tub that has a shower attachment that you can take off and use as a hose. It will be much easier and will allow your dog to have clean water the entire time. If you don't have that option, make sure you empty out the water a lot to keep your dog clean.

Rinse your dog all over. Do not use human shampoo but use dog shampoo. Make sure to get all areas of the dog. Don't put soap near the eyes and be very careful around the genitals. You don't want much soap near either because they can really hurt the dog. If you have a dog that has a lot of hair, make sure you work the shampoo in really well. You really want the dog to come out clean so be sure to get everywhere.

Rinse off your dog. Get every single part and don't leave any soap in the hair. It will irritate the dog and will make the skin itchy and red.

Use a towel to first dry off your dog Make sure the feet are completely dry so they don't get infected. If your dog has a lot of hair, use a blow dryer. They need to have their coat dried completely or they will get cold and sick. Don't use a human blow dryer because it can get too hot and harm your dog. They make tons of great hair dryers for dogs so get one before you bathe your dog. If your dog's hair tends to get curly after it's been washed, blow dry it too and brush it. You want your dog looking his best. Brush any dog's hair after you are done.

Groom your dog often. Find out how often your dog Should do depends on where you live and the type of dog. . Some people need to wash every week with a diluted shampoo. But it is often less clear.

PureBites Chicken Breast Dog Treats, 11.6 oz. We got these as a x-mas gift and this is the BEST treat! I am very careful about what I give my Shih Tzu who is a puppymill rescue and has health issues. This treat is a 100% natural made with 100% chicken and also VERY IMPORTANT is that it is NOT MADE IN CHINA. I never give my dog anything that is made in China (I have relatives in China and trust me you do not want to feed your dog anything that is made there) so there have been very few options out there for my dog. The added plus is that both my dog and cat LOVE these treats. My dog is more finicky than my cat and they both go crazy over these and b/c I know they are 100% natural chicken I feel confident giving them the treats. There are, however, two drawbacks and that is why I can't give it 5 stars. 1) A lot of the treats are wasted b/c they crumble and at least 1/4 of the bag looks like it is filled with sawdust (crumbs from the broken treats). Many of the pieces also crumble into pea-size pieces which are too small for a dog. Fortunately my cat does not mind the tiny pieces so I give these to him. These treats are also very expensive which I don't mind b/c the quality is so good but for this price, I wish so much would not go to waste. 2) Like another reviewer said, you do need to be careful b/c I have found a bone in them as well. I found a bone about an inch long embedded in one of the treats so now I am careful to inspect the treat before giving it to my dog. Even with these drawbacks, I still feel these are the best treats out there if you are looking for 1) healthy, 2)natural, 3) tasty treats that are 4) MADE IN USA. In my experience, it is nearly impossible to meet all 4 criteria. This is the only treat that does (at least for my pets where taste is concerned. My pets refuse to eat Newman's treats even though they are healthy).
